At the start of my journey in 2019 as Chief Executive, I talked about new beginnings. I pursued opportunities to explore the strengths and maximize the LGU resources that would benefit the whole constituency. My experience at the barangay level helped me nurture the knowledge of good governance that has opened my heart and mind to be compassionate to the disadvantaged. They need space and enough interventions that would start with having a plan, however, this should be inclusive and emanate from the grassroots.

CLUP is very instrumental as it is considered the mother plan of the LGU that focuses on making the lands more profitable and productive. It would be a well-planned development that would enhance land values which do not compromise the welfare of the next generation hence right things should be in place.

Considering that the municipality has experienced a momentum of growth due to the increasing number of industries and small-scale enterprises, its development strategies should align with these demands. Land uses should address the needs of service sectors such as education, business, and industries. That’s why I have prioritized the allocation of land for institutions and commercial areas because I know that the requirement would be very vital.

The local economy is at its height of improvement by making the municipality the center of commerce and trading through the construction of vertical infrastructures. Thus, other improvements will follow that would make Talacogon a center of commerce for the three river municipalities.

With all these developments, the locality will continue to strengthen and enhance its comparative advantage as an attractive location for commercial, industrial, and Institutional purposes, the ten-year comprehensive Land Use Plan is necessary. Updating such during my term marks a legacy that I can take part in the improvement of Talacogon. With this, I have to commend the efforts of the MPDO Staff and those who have worked together in the making of this plan. May this be a blueprint for anyone or every leader who would stand as the Captain in making Talacogon a progressive municipality…
